One workaround is getting a Magic Trackpad 2 along with the folio keyboard but I’m not sure the experience in that will be as good as the one with the magic keyboard because the trackpad uses a Bluetooth connection while the magic keyboard maintains a physical connection. The Smart Keyboard folio on the other hand provides much more of a tablet experience (again, which in my case is a better handwriting experience) but you lose the trackpad which I personally think is more more useful while reading books or notes.
